Working with a freelancer in Italy, I’m in US. They are looking to use Wise to transfer the payment. The business seems like a legit small freelancer. No real reason to doubt their legitimacy. For my safety I asked about an option to pay smaller amounts for the service rather than all at once, that way if something was off and they ghost, I’m not losing any substantial money. I'm not sure the conclusion holds for smaller teams. Would be interesting to see this broken down by company size.
